Step back into the golden age of barbering with Campbell’s Cotton Hair Cloth. Designed with a nod to traditional barbershops and salons, this old-fashioned hair and chair cloth delivers timeless style without sacrificing modern durability. Featuring a classic black and white stripe pattern, it adds an instant touch of vintage sophistication to any styling station.
Crafted from a premium poly-cotton blend, this cape is lightweight, breathable, and built to withstand the daily hustle of a busy shop. It features an extra-large neck design to comfortably accommodate clients of all sizes, offering generous 45" W x 50" L coverage to keep clothes completely free of stray hairs.
Barber's Note: True to its classic roots, this cape features a traditional plain neck closing. It requires a hair cloth clip for closure, which is sold separately.

More Information
Features
- Vintage Styling: Classic black and white striped design for that authentic, old-school barbershop aesthetic.
- Quality Blend: Made from a durable, breathable poly-cotton blend that holds up wash after wash.
- Generous Coverage: Measures 45" W x 50" L to provide excellent front and lap coverage for your clients.
- Extra-Large Neck: Designed to easily fit comfortably around larger neck sizes.
- Traditional Plain Closure: Authentic plain neck finish (requires a standard hair cloth clip to secure; sold separately).
How to use
1. Prep the Neckline
Before putting the cape on, tuck a fresh neck strip (or a folded paper towel) around the client’s neckline. This adds comfort, absorbs moisture, and prevents the cloth cape from rubbing directly against their skin.
2. Drape and Center
Bring the cape from the front of the client to the back. Make sure the cape is centered so they have full coverage over their lap and arms.
3. The Overlap and Fold (The Secret Step)
Pull both upper corners of the cape toward the back of the neck.
- Pull the fabric taut (but comfortable) against the neck.
- Overlap one side tightly over the other.
- The Fold: To prevent the fabric from gapping or slipping, fold the overlapping top edge downward and outward, creating a crisp, folded pleat right at the center-back of the neck.
4. Clip to the Shirt
Open your cloth clip. Anchor the clip by grabbing both layers of the folded cape fabric AND the collar of the client's shirt simultaneously.
- Why the shirt? Clipping the cape directly to the fabric of their shirt collar acts as an anchor. It keeps the cape from sliding down if the client moves their head.
5. Check the Seal
Ask your client to tilt their head forward slightly. Look for any gaps. If it feels secure and you can’t see any skin or shirt collar exposed at the back, you are ready to cut.
Quick Pro-Tips for a Perfect Fit
💡 The Golden Rule: Always clip downward or horizontally across the fold. If you clip upward, the weight of the cape might cause it to slip out of the clip's teeth.
- Fabric Tension: Cloth capes loosen up as the client moves. Pulling the fabric just a little tighter than you think you need before clipping will account for them settling into the chair.
- Clip Placement: If the client has a very wide neck and one clip isn't doing the trick, you can use two clips angled slightly toward the sides of the neck rather than one right in the dead center.
